Scott Harris was born in Boone, NC and grew up in Sugar Grove area of the High Country, where he attended Cove Creek Elementary School. He moved to Wilkesboro, NC with his parents in his teen years where he graduated from Wilkes Central High School. Immediately afterward, Scott had his first experience in the construction industry when he got a job as a laborer, and he loved it! Scott then continued in the construction industry taking jobs with various companies while attending Richmond Technical College and furthering his knowledge of construction by attaining certificates in carpentry, masonry, electrical wiring, plumbing, and business management. Scott married his wife June Gwyn, who is from Elk Park, NC and he was blessed with two sons while continuing to work in various capacities in the construction trades. In 1997 Scott passed the exam and qualified for his general contractor's license, allowing him to start his own company, which he did in 1998. For the next ten years Scott and his wife worked in their own business building and remodeling houses, many of which were in the High Country. He has also worked with other contractor's on many large scale projects such as Heavenly Mountain, White Laurel, Leatherwood Develpment, and Wilke's Senoir Villages Nursing Facility. In 2008 Scott joined our team at Greene Construction and is currently enjoying being able to use his vast knowledge and experience to fill the position of Superintendent. After 24 years in the industry, Scott says he still loves doing construction work! Scott and June are still happily married and have three grandchildren by their two sons. He spends his free time camping, fishing, rafting, and hunting with his family.
